El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo diseñar y evaluar técnicamente un sistema híbrido solar–diésel con almacenamiento para la electrificación de una comunidad rural aislada en el sector Quisapincha, Ecuador, considerando las condiciones locales de recurso solar y demanda energética. Se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y aplicado, que incluyó la caracterización del recurso solar mediante datos de NASA/POWER, la estimación de la demanda a partir de registros de consumo y el dimensionamiento técnico de los componentes del sistema. Posteriormente, se realizó una simulación en HOMER Pro para comparar el desempeño de un sistema híbrido FV–diésel–batería frente a un sistema basado exclusivamente en generación diésel. Los resultados mostraron que el sistema híbrido alcanzó una fracción renovable del 60,3 %, con una producción fotovoltaica de 6 977 kWh/año y una generación diésel de 4 596 kWh/año. En comparación con el sistema diésel, el consumo de combustible se redujo de 7 531 L/año a 3 754 L/año, mientras que las emisiones de CO₂ disminuyeron de 19 675 kg/año a 9 807 kg/año. Además, ambos escenarios presentaron 0 % de carga no atendida y 0 % de déficit de capacidad. Se concluye que el sistema híbrido propuesto constituye una alternativa técnicamente viable para reducir la dependencia del diésel y mejorar el desempeño ambiental del suministro eléctrico en comunidades rurales aisladas.
