Sistema de Protección Sistémica Considerando la Expansión de Generación y Transmisión en el Sistema Ecuatoriano

Abstract

In march 2015, the Systemic Protection System (SPS) was implemented in ecuadorian electric system, whose function is detect the occurrence of critical contingencies, previously identifi ed, and to execute of the remedial actions that have been defi ned and implemented for each of these contingencies. Considering the operation of the new generation units and transmission elements in the National Interconnected System (SNI), the operating conditions will change and therefore the updating of SPS is required. This document presents the criteria and results of the analysis of single and double contingency in the National Transmission System (SNT), to determine the critical contingencies under new operating scenarios and propound the remedial actions that allow the SNI maintain safe operation.
