This paper presents a comparative energy analysis of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN). The symmetrical condition of the organization and the similar market conditions, allowed the calculation of energy-economy indicators for development.
The analysis accentuate the highenergy abundance of energy resources, which is overshadowed by the low energy integration between the Nations. The analysis use a historical series of data ranging from 2,000 to 2,015, based on information available from official energy agencies. As main results, demonstrate similar indicators trends between the member countries: Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, which conform a cluster, while Bolivia showing distant indicators from this cluster. Nevertheless, after 2010, the Bolivian society presents a progressive progress in the result of the indicators.
Finally, in general, the group of countries have many opportunities to make significant advances in the economic energy issues and reaching high levels of development. However is necessary a common strategies and strengthening their integration.
