The planning and operation of power systems are commonly based on a series of analyzes that include the use of dynamic and steady state simulations. In this sense, modeling a power system with adequate detail is a fundamental requirement for applications that rely on an accurate prediction of the dynamic response of the system, such as, for example, the design and evaluation of systemic protection schemes (SPS), area separation schemes, tuning of power system stabilizers (PSS), among others. On this basis, it is logical to ask: if the models are unable to represent, within an acceptable margin of error, the phenomena observed in the SEP, how can we rely on the results of studies carried out based on these models? Considering the extreme importance of having a properly validated model, the objective of this work is to develop a computational tool and to structure a methodology for the Power Plant Model Validation (PPMV), and for the identification of their main control systems parameters using the software-in-the-loop (SIL) functionality implemented through the mean-variance mapping optimization (MVMO) heuristic algorithm in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, which allows comparing the results of the simulations with records obtained from phasor measurement units (PMUs), of events or disturbances occurred in a power system.
