Optimization of the Electric Consumption of Lighting Systems in Interior Spaces of the Technical University of Ambato
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article a study of optimization of the electrical consumption of the system of illumination in interior spaces of the room of investigation of the main building of the Faculty of Engineering in Systems, Electronics and Industrial of the Technical University of Ambato is presented. The study of optimization of electrical consumption is based on the comparative analysis of the design and simulation of two different lighting systems: the currently existing one, made up of fluorescent luminaires, and the one proposed to be installed, made up of LED luminaires. The design of the evaluated lighting systems must comply with the indoor lighting regulations UNE-EN 12464-1, guaranteeing the minimum levels of illuminance. For the design and simulation of the aforementioned lighting systems, the DIALux software was used, which allows to simulate the lighting systems and verify that the specifications and recommendations established in current regulations are met. Finally, is presented a comparative analysis of the electricity consumption and the economic cost of the lighting systems evaluated, scaled to the lighting system of the Faculty of Systems, Electronics and Industrial Engineering, FISEI, of the Technical University of Ambato, UTA.
