Estudios para la Determinación del Reactor de Amortiguamiento en Bancos de Capacitores a 230 kV. Aplicación a la Subestación Las Esclusas

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to present the actual criteria for sizing the capacitor bank’s damping inductance. Based on the latest classifi cation of switches and new limit values when maneuvering capacitive transient currents established in the IEEE Std. C37.06-2009, it is usually unnecessary to use damping inductance. These criteria are applied to the capacitor banks (2x60 MVAR) that will be implemented in Las Esclusas substation at 230 kV. The results show that it is not necessary to include damping inductances.
