Abstract
The adequate modeling of control systems of a power system, particularly the control systems of generating units, is of fundamental importance for the realization of dynamic studies to emulate the responses of the power system as nearly as possible. This paper presents a methodology for the development of control models of generating units. The models are developed in DIgSILENT Simulation Language (DSL) of PowerFactory. Structured models are tested thoroughly cabinet for an isolated system. The purpose of these tests is to analyze the consistency of the results and parameter validation. The tested models are part of the Ecuadorian Power System (SNI) and their incorporation to a database for stability studies will allow improving the emulation of electromechanical transients in the system.
