The present work shows the partial results got in the project of linkage with the society entitled “Education for sustainable development (EDS) directed to high school in the city of Guayaquil” belonging to the “ESPOL Polytechnic University”. the project framed in home energy sustainability considering the specific learning objectives of the described SDGs in the cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioral domains.
The project based on the development of training plans on renewable energies and training home energy management, based on the constructivist learning model and the development of educational prototypes, comprising the learning objectives described in objective 7 of the SDGs as a mechanism for transferring energy knowledge in marginal urban areas of the city of Guayaquil.
In the workshops, students learned renewable energy concepts; associated criteria of home energy management; including the criteria of sustainability and environmental resilience. The results got from the teaching cycles have identified that it is possible to achieve an average reduction of residential energy consumption by at least 10% of the beneficiaries, and the redesign of the contents and learning tools considering the competences, dimensions and the variables of the local environment.
