This article presents the analysis of the advanced metering infrastructure of electricity (AMI) and its relation to the demand response (DR). The paper proposes some alternatives for the optimal deployment of communications infrastructure from a heterogeneous solution that articulates the cellular network provided from a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) with a multi-hop network based on IEEE 802.15.4g, integrated into aggregation points universal Data (UDAP), hubs that can achieve interconnection with cellular radio base nearest. Contemplating that the information is recurrent and necessary for the projection of demand response (DR) to information received, it is then necessary that the deployment is optimal for proper maintenance of the network and achieve scalability of the infrastructure with the lowest economic impact.
