Abstract

Simulation of heat recovery systems from combustion gases of oil engines, using the simulator Hysys 7.2. Initially the simulation criteria were validated based on current operating conditions of the heat recovery system of the EPF station, operated by Petroamazonas EP. Then alternatives to the use of exhaust gases such as cogeneration and heat recovery for oil heating were determined that for small installed generation capacity is recommended heat recovery for heating raw oil. For this alternative, different thermal fl uid receivers of waste heat such as thermal oil, water vapor and liquid water were studied.

A chart for each thermal fl uid receiver of heat, which relates the internal rate of return (IRR) with the ability to power generation which determines the capacity of generation from which it is technically and economically feasible to apply a heat recovery system for gases product of the combustion.
