Generación Eólica en Ecuador: Análisis del Entorno y Perspectivas de Desarrollo

Abstract

Local financial and economic conditions were analysed in order to research the key factors for favouring the development of wind power generation in Ecuador. This determines whether the non-conventional generation prices, established in Ecuador, for wind energy are attractive enough for a project of this type to be financially sustainable over time. The estimate is performed using financial indices such as the Net Present Value and the Internal Return Rate. A sensitivity analysis was also performed to determine how these indices are modified with variations in the energy price, plant factor or discount rate, among others.
