Estudio de Coordinación de Protecciones por Métodos Computacionales Aplicados a una Subestación
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work proposes using computational tools to perform power flow studies and short-circuit analyses, as well as for analysing and improving the protection system of a substation and its feeders. It also presents the advantage of using an intelligent electronic device (IED) to improve network reliability and to adjust and coordinate protections as a complementary computational tool.
The power flow study is necessary for adjusting certain protection elements and the short-circuit analysis is used to coordinate them.
This work might be used as a guide when performing a study of protective devices coordination for a substation with specific characteristics, as it uses practical and theoretical assumptions based on the experience of engineers in the electricity distribution field and in the pertinent analysis of the system’s mathematical equations.
