Abstract

This article presents a diagnosis of the transmission service quality situation in Ecuador based on the analysis of the statistical information of the National Transmission System (SNT) and the evolution of the quality parameters and indicators established in the Regulation No. CONELEC – 003/08 Quality of Electricity Transportation and Transmission and Connection Service in the National Interconnected System. In addition to this, considering that the aforementioned regulation has not been modified since its approval in 2008 and that today there is a different network topology, even with new voltage levels for the SNT, based on results obtained, new criteria are proposed that allow the updating or reform of the Regulation; For this purpose, IEEE standards and international transmission quality regulations were examined to identify the indices and limits used for their control.
