Determinación de los Límites de Estabilidad Estática de Ángulo del Sistema Nacional Interconectado

Abstract
The phase angle difference between busbar voltages in an electric power system (EPS) is a direct measurement of the system’s congestion state. In this manner, a constant monitoring alerts the operator of possible congestion problems among the EPS when phase angle differences exceed pre-established limits (steady-state angle stability limits). With the development of synchrophasor measurement technology, monitoring the phase angle difference has taken on a new focus, given that it is analysed separate from the State Estimator, achieving improved speed and strength. The National Interconnected System’s operator, CENACE, currently uses a synchrophasor measurement system managed by the WAProtector platform. This software has an application that allows for monitoring the system’s busbar phase angle voltage difference using advanced visualization techniques. This paper provides an introduction to synchrophasor measurement technology, as well as an overview of the CENACE’s WAMS system. Then, a methodological proposal for determining phase angle steady-state stability limits is presented. Such limits act as a referential basis for real-time monitoring.
