Abstract

In the  present  work  a  model  is  developed  for  the realization  of  the  Economic  Dispatch  in  the  short term (24  hours  of  a  typical  day)  of  the  Baltra  and Santa  Cruz  Island  Hybrid  System  (thermal,  wind and solar    photovoltaic    generation) located    in Galápagos.


Due  to  the  randomness  that  the  wind  and  solar resource  presents  (random  variables),  in  order  to  introduce   the   Power   of   these   renewable   systems within  the  problem  of  the  Economic  Dispatch,  a treatment  is  made  to  the  random  variables,  using Montecarlo   Simulations    Techniques,   for   which, there is a three years of historical data base.


For the Economic  Dispatch is considered that the renewable sources   deliver   all   the   power   determined   in   the treatment, but as it isn’t enough to supply the load of hybrid system, the  missing  power  is  complemented by   thermal   generation. In   the   current   work the storage systems or battery bank is not modeled.


To   perform   Economic   Dispatch   of   the   thermal generation, the optimal power flows are  used,  that look  for  minimizing  the  generation  operating  costs, using the interior point method.
