Abstract
In this paper the optimal location of sincrofasoriales measurement units (PMU’s) will be analyzed in electric power systems considering the existence of conventional measures or the use of PMU’s only in order to make them fully observable. The PMU’s have applications in the estimation of state under normal operation and fault detection, measurement and control in abnormal conditions, work was specifi cally analyzed for normal operating conditions. The IEEE 14, 30, 57, 118 and the SNI (Ecuadorian National Interconnected System) systems will be tested in carrying out this work. To pose the problem of the optimal location we proceeded to analyze data systems available, as are their topologies, conventional measurements as well as the number and location of bus injection zero. Two optimization methods will be used for solving the problem in the fi rst instance the proper function of MatLab programmer mathematician called bintprog, and second heuristic algorithm binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) developed by the authors.
