Abstract

This paper describes the methodology for the implementation and development of a system with frequency control functions of a microgrid in a real-time simulation environment. The method presented in this work has been developed using time domain simulation with HYPERSIM which is a software for high resolution electromagnetic transient analysis. The integration step used allowed to obtain the response of a solar panel with its controllers and inverters connected to a distribution network and a load. The response of the microgrid was integrated with the WAMS system of CENACE through the connection of a PMU equipment in the Hardware In The Loop architecture which uses the analog inputs and outputs of the simulation in real time, this development analyzes dynamically different operational and contingency scenarios of the microgrid, especially the frequency response to a generation disconnection event.
