Abstract

Load modeling is a fundamental task in the design, planning, operation, control and many other studies and applications related to the correct electrical systems operation. Although load modeling has been extensively studied in the past, a great interest has been resurgence today from researchers and industry due to: technological change in demand, continuous networks growth, operation close to the stability limits, distributed generation, great deployment of measurement technologies, among many others. In this context, the objective of this work is to present a bibliographic review on load modeling, in which the last decade research is prioritized. To achieve the aforementioned objective, the first systematic bibliographic classification methodology focused specifically on load modeling is proposed (to the authors knowledge). Based on this methodology, the results are deduced and include: current research trends, lest-investigated areas and future research subjects; these results are described and highlighted clearly.
